Diamonds Tournament[/b][/u]

Anyone, who is an MW member (recruits and gladiators as well!) or MW ally can sign up for this tournament. You must sign up to be able to participate in the tournament. It will happen every Saturday.
Before the tournament, there will be a warmup period, which the host will decide upon at the match. There are no restrictions duirng the warmup. You can duel whoever you want, use whatever weapon you want, and even participate in FFAs.
The tournament is fought with FFA saber duels. You will duel each contestant three times, but not in a row in a row. You will be rewarded a score for each duel you win. However, whoever wins the most of those 3 matches will win the round and continue on as the contestant for the next 3-match round. After winning two rounds, you have to step down and let two new opponent fight.
Participating in this tournament is the perfect opportunity to increase chances of getting into the Gladiator squadron. The winners and general high-scorers of these tournaments may be considered for Gladiator positions (if they are not Gladiators already). Even if you aren't let into the squadron soon after winning or scoring high in the tournament, it may help you get in later.
The winner of this tournament will acheive the title of "Sentenil". He will retain this title until he is beaten in a later tournament. There is no reward except respect. If you win one tournament and do not participate in the following tournament, you will loose your Sentenil title, and it will be taken by whoever wins that tournament. There are no exceptions to this rule.

This is the current draft of the Diamonds tournament. I am declaring the period from today to the 7th of March a time when the Diamonds Tournament is offficially under development. That means that I will be accepting ANY suggestions that anyone (even people who aren't in the clan if they want to) can make. On the 7th of March, from whatever suggestions I receive, I will make proper modifications to the tournament. So please, fire away.

i got an idea for a month long tourny or a week loing...which needs peopel to be active....doesn't really have any use in this topic though.

as for this, i think that having a winner stays on could be good, liek we do when fighting PE with duels.

so someone fights, if they win they fight the next opponent, if they lose the next person takes there place.
after they have beaten everyone participating they must step down and the next2 people fight...winner stays on with the same rules.
when it returns to the dueler hwho has beaten everyone he can only win a maximum of one less then those participating (6 people alltogether = only 5 wins second time round)

you could either time the match(so after an hour the person with most points wins) or have a "first to..." game.

So far all I've got is a suggestion from Paradox which wasnt written in a way that I can understand. So, as far as I'm concerned, I have received no suggestions. Do you truly all have no suggestions?

Teams?
You could partner people up against 2 opponents. And they can discuss who fights first.
If Team A wins the first fight, and wins the next fight, they win.
If Team A wins the first fight but looses the second fight, then they can pick who fights in the tie-breaker.

Whoever grabs a certain number of fights (best-to-three battles) wins the tournament.
Dunno about pairing people up though.

Ok, I haven't really received many suggestions. Taffer, you suggested something that would be more appropriate for a completely seperate tournament, which may happen sometime soon.

Fireworks! Pyrotechnics! EXPLOSIONS! Lazers will go off and music will boom as the entrants enter and show off their massively taxing wire-fu moves and end with a gigantic explosion with streamers and candy!

To be honest, I don't think enough members care. I honestly think way too many members are TOO PICKY. If we had a huge playerbase, this wouldn't be a problem. That and if 65% didn't have Alzheimers.

More like amnesia. Alzheimers only appears in seniors, and I doubt that our members are lying about their age to THAT extent.

can i just say how about we do something like they do on dragonball z (i will try to draw it for u but it might not work). it is like this..........



ok so everyone fights untill they are ether eliminated or they win. this is how it works.

Everyone starts on the bottem line and fight the person they have been paired with. the winner of that fights one of the people that had won thier duel aswell.
then the winner of that goes up to the next round and the same happens, they fight the person (at random) who had won thier own battle (in this round).

ok the only complicated part is when u need to deide on the first second and first place. when u have 3 peolpe left one of the people fights one of the 3 people and say if they win, they go and fight the other person, if they win on that then they have won and go to first place. if they dont win on tht the person they are fighting gos up 2 first place.

when first place is decided the other 2 competitors have a final fight, whoever wins that gets second and the looser of tht figfht gets third place.

i hope that makes sense coz it took me ages to try and write it down in a way you could understand it.

Alzheimers can rarely occur in youngsters, sonny! And I have to point out that that idea is in no way original to Dragonball Z. That's your run of the mill elimination tournament, which I think should have been used from the start---it goes smoothly. Best 2 of 3 rounds, no exceptions. No "I was lagged" or "It went through you" crap. Even if that actually DID happen (which is one in a million chance) everyone else has the same chance of it happening to them. From what I understand, we used to do something of a Pseudo-Round-Robin.
